What Are Digital X-Rays?

Digital X-rays are an essential diagnostic tool that allows Dr. Wesley Nelson to examine areas of the teeth, gums, and supporting structures that cannot be seen during a visual dental exam. Using advanced digital technology, these images provide detailed views of tooth roots, bone levels, developing cavities, infections, and other oral health concerns while using significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays.

At Cape Coral Dentistry, digital X-rays are used as part of comprehensive dental evaluations to help Dr. Nelson create accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans. These images allow the dental team to detect problems early, monitor changes over time, and provide patients with a clearer understanding of their oral health. Whether used during routine preventive visits or for planning restorative treatments, digital X-rays help patients receive safer, more efficient, and more precise dental care.

Detect Dental Problems Early

Many dental concerns develop below the surface before they become noticeable through symptoms. Digital X-rays allow Dr. Wesley Nelson to identify cavities, bone changes, infections, and other conditions in their earlier stages when treatment is often simpler and more conservative.

Provide Clear, Detailed Images

Digital X-rays create high-resolution images that help Dr. Nelson evaluate the teeth, roots, jawbone, and surrounding structures with greater accuracy. These detailed images support more precise diagnoses and allow patients to better understand their recommended treatment options.

Use Less Radiation Than Traditional X-Rays

Digital X-ray technology requires less radiation exposure compared to traditional dental film while still providing the detailed information needed for effective diagnosis. This makes digital imaging a safe and efficient option for patients of all ages.

I highly recommend this dental office! I’ve been going here for many years and have never been disappointed! They are a small private practice so they really get to know you (they literally ask how my dog is doing by name) and you feel comfortable the second you walk in the door. Everyone is so friendly and professional, from reception to the dental hygienists to the doctor and his assistants! Always very honest, fair and upbeat!

I had a family emergency. This office took care of me like I was family. I broke a tooth. I was in pain. I called up. They took me the same day. They did a crown prep the very next day. They had a crown and installed it I just could not get over all the help that they gave me what I recommend these people to anyone else you bet your life I would.
